freedom

today marks the day i embark on a prescription of Itraconazole and sastid soap plus aluminium chloride hexahydrate. praying for a complete vindication from unsightly spots and sweaty handshakes.

never really found the motivation to seek treatment until today.. today is a big day!

Overjoyed. Relieved. Lucky

my first real job interview was a success!
3 rounds of initial filtering, final round of a friendly interogation
lady peeks over the wall and shows me a thumbs up!
basically all candidates in that room got in. girls as young as 20 and guys.. i think we were the youngest.

first time seeing doctor in paragon. shall get my irritating spots treated as advised and its on to the longest wait of my life for the call up to commence training

a little mixed feeling about the basic salary before flying. hm.. shall keep it a secret. and hope nothing is wrong with my medical. oh yea.. ORD cant come fast enough!!!

and i thought alienware was expensive

try customizing your own mac. it can cost up to S$ 34,004.67 before GST. GST will be S$ 2,380.33 and your mac will set you back S$ 36,385.00. however the specs are plain idiotic. who the hell uses 32gb of 800mhz ram and 4x300gb 15,000rpm harddisks. this is what you do when you are bored on a tuesday afternoon. just too see some figures which will make you go woah. but i must say the mac pro is a nice toy to have. a normal mac pro is enough

new toy! (not yet)

Klipsch ProMedia GMX A-2.1 $349 (what i saw)

Altec Lansing FX6021 $269 (what i have)

i always thought that there is no distributor for klipsch in singapore. until i was enlightened by an audiohouse staff just now that sonicgear brings in klipsch to singapore. weird mismatch...

so i always told myself because of the costs involved in shipping in a set of klipsch online is going to be very high and not worth it. therefore i never really thought of upgrading to a set of klipsch.

now then.. iv heard what it can deliver. it has a totally different audio signature from altec lansing. the huge 3" woofers in the satellites deliver a full bodied mid range and low resonant sounds and the proprietary MicroTractrix® horns delivers crisp clear highs. its a "package deal".

on the contrary in my current speakers i have 3 separate amplifiers to power 12 individual microdrivers. the sound is delivered to you in distinct parts. 4 for highs, 4 for mids and 4 plus the 6.5" woofer for the lows. i like to listen to music on my current speakers. still havn't got a chance to fully experience the klipsch. although i'm pretty tempted to sell off my current ones to get those, i think the money spent will not be justified. the klipsch did wow me with its design and sound but i still like my altec lansing a lot. not enough wow to move me to buying the klipsch.

ORD phones?

LG Viewty KU990 S$688

Sony Ericsson K850i S$668

Nokia N95 8GB S$934

Cameras
5MP Schneider-Kreuznach
5MP Proprietary
5MP Carl Zeiss

Sizes
104 x 54 x 15 mm, 112g
102 x 48 x 17 mm, 118g
99 x 53 x 21 mm, 128g
i believe all these comparisons are irrelevant if you have the money and changing handphones is as easy as blinking your eye. i almost wanted to think the new Nokia 8800 is a good ORD phone until i saw some of the specs and the price. its looks good but doesn't perform like an Nvidia 8800GT chip. lol...

maybe jd is right. the ORD phone will have to depend on the paycheck first and foremost and also your job scope, which tells of your requirements for a communications device. however, as of now im terribly tempted by the "completeness" of the Nokia N95 8GB. Terrible for the wallet too.

102 days and counting... good luck to me in 8 days time too.

black and white

i think white is much nicer, with a bit of editing. its hard to get the whole of the LOVE into the picture from a front on angle. lessons learnt in dummy photography.

according to this girl, pink is next... but it won't be spontaneous like these two. haha. we shall see

10 minutes into 2008

maybe my first new year's resolution should be to put more effort in organising gatherings. despite the impromptu-ness we still managed to find a rather spacious spot right behind one of the giant 3ft marina square exhaust tubes. so we got a pretty nice obscured view of the 10 minute fireworks. my apologies, my alterego was @ the esplanade with a better vantage point when you were all locked on to the the sparkles in the sky

here you are

ok hope that should help you guys relive the brief first moments of 2008. happy new year guys!

i feel this year is important in my life. very important. crossroads. life shaping decisions
therefore number 1 on the list should be
1. get the job and work hard if im in or start preparing the necessary stuff for application to UQ
that's all after 060508, therefore comes number 2
2. learn the art of tolerance and even more, acceptance, just for this 100 odd days i have left in service. time should fly when you are having, erm, fun?
3. controlled eating
4. controlled expenditure ($)
5. be content but allow myself to buy some toto tickets once in awhile
6. be prepared for and go head on with things that are still unforeseeable as of 020108 for the rest of the year

i hope there will be more pleasant surprises and less disappointements in 2008
